The thick, full tang construction makes it feel virtually indestructible in the hand. I’ve used this beast of a blade for all sorts of challenging camp tasks like chopping saplings and small trees, splitting thick logs and kindling, and sawing through branches and roots. The heft of the knife lets me easily baton through decent sized logs to process firewood. I never have to worry about the blade chipping or breaking even when I’m really bearing down on it hard with a piece of wood. I also truly appreciate the precision control the gut hook area gives me when cleaning the fish I frequently catch from mountain lakes and streams.
